Who can join RFR?

Anyone from any of the Rutgers Colleges, full-time or part-time students.

Do I need to know anything prior to joining RFR?

As long as you are a student at Rutgers University you are welcome to join our club. If you have never worked on an automobile before we will teach you everything you need to know.

How much time do I have to put in to the RFR?

This is a complicated question. Essentially, you can put in as much or as little time as you want. We do ask that if you commit to a project that you see it through to its completion. Of course, the more you put into the club, the more you will benefit from it.

Can I drive the car?

After being an active member of the club for one year you will get the opportunity to drive. And let me tell you - it's awesome.

What can I work on?

When you join the RFR you pick the project you want to work on and are assigned a project leader. Some of the projects include; the engine, chassis, body, electrical, suspension, drivetrain and uprights. Depending on the subsystem you've chosen, you will be assigned a task to complete. This task is mututally agreed upon between you and your project leader.

Along with working on your assigned project we ask that you help out with regular chores, such as cleaning up the lab periodically.

Am I restricted to working on only the project I choose?

No. You can come to the lab every day and help out with whatever and who ever is working that day.

Where are you located?

We are located on Busch Campus at the New Brunswick location of Rutgers University. You can view a map of the area from the bottom of our contact page.
